The Dillon Quirke Foundation work to raise awareness of Sudden Adult Death Syndrome (SADS).
Our mission is to protect young athletes and their families from the devestation of SADS.
Because every athlete has the right to be screened.
#getscreened4SADS
On average, Sudden Adult Death Syndrome (SADS) takes 100 young lives in Ireland every year. Cardiac screening can help prevent SADS by identifying heart conditions at an early stage, even before they cause symptoms.
With your help, the Foundation’s aim is to raise awareness and reduce the number of young people dying from SADS through a national cardiac screening programme.
Our hope for Dillon’s legacy is that every young sports athlete in Ireland, male or female, will have equal access to free screening for their heart.
19,500+ free cardiac screenings to date
As of January, 2026 over 19,500 screenings have been conducted.
We are aiming for our most ambitious year yet, we want to screen over 10,000 young athletes in 2026 to reach a massive 30,000 total hearts screened.
But we need your help.
